Contest!

A historic fountain near me was struck by lightning, and now it is inoperable. Due to all of the budget cuts, the county does not have enough money to fix it. They are now accepting donations to fix this local landmark. I would like to aid in this effort, so I am having a contest!


Here are the details:


There are 3 different levels of prizes, depending on the amount of your donation.

A $1 donation will get you entered to win one of the following skeins of yarn:
Trekking XXL- colorway 155
Tofutsies- choice of colors 788, 784, 741
Thalassa Seasilk Lace yarn- Luna colorway

A $2 donation will get you entered to win a skein of:
Wollmeise- Frosch (dark) colorway
Plus you will be entered to win a $1 level prize

For each $5 donation you will be entered to win:
A pair of socks knit just for you by me. You will be able to pick yarn from my stash as well as any pattern you want. Here are some examples of socks I've knit:

Go here, make a donation to the Lake Eola Park Fountain Restoration, then leave a comment with the donation level (or you may email it to kibblesnknitz at gmail dot com.) Make sure to leave the email address you used to make your donation so I can let you know if you win a prize!

I don't want to have to check every donation level, this is supposed to be a fun contest to help out a community, we're grown ups and we should be able to use the "honor system".

Getting Ready for SockWars!

In preparation for Sock Wars this year I was looking for some loot. I came across this blog that has a wonderful contest to win a WIP bag. They are so awesome! She also has an etsy shop with more pretty project bags, patterns, and stitch markers. Go check it out!

Amber's Sweater

Amber finally got to see her sweater and I'm pretty sure she LOVED it. Here is a quick picture of her wearing it for the first time over a bunch of other shirts.

I cast on for my first Anastasia sock using Tofutsies for the first time. I only cast on yesterday and I'm already finished with the first foot! I can't wait to get home from work tomorrow to start on the heel. Here's my progress:

Thermal is done!

Thermal has been blocked and the buttons have been sewn on. I am so proud of this project because it was my first sweater, and I actually stuck with it and finished it even though it took a while. I have to take some pictures tomorrow in the natural light. Hopefully they will come out right, you would never know I took 2 photography classes...

thermal is almost finished. i am so excited. it actually looks decent and i'm proud of it. i had the recipient close her eyes to try it on and it fits REALLY WELL! i can't wait until i get to see amber wearing the finished product. i hope she likes it. if she doesn't i'm going to give it to someone who does! i've been super obsessed with wanting to cast on some socks, but have refrained until thermal was finished. well all i have to do is block it and buy some buttons and sew them on. i will actually be finished by the deadline of her birthday. score.
